Food Distribution

There are people in the world so hungry, that God cannot appear to them except in the form of bread.

→ HVB has supported the distribution of free food to all those in need in numerous locations across the world, from local to us in the UK, to India, Africa and Singapore. With a rise in the number of people experiencing food poverty in the UK, HVB has pledged £5000 per year to supporting weekly food distribution in the Bradford area in partnership with the Salvation Army. In the last year alone, HVB has also sponsored the distribution of over 2000 hearty meals to elderly and disabled residents living in supported accommodation and nursing homes across Singapore.

→ A calendar event for HVB over the years has been its involvement in the annual Grama Seva Project, an initiative jointly undertaken by the Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning, India. This project was inspired by Sri Sathya Sai Baba who highlighted the importance of providing proper nutrition and appropriate clothing to preventing disease. It is for this reason the HVB has regularly supported the distribution of food and clothing to as many needy people across hundreds of rural villages in the area of Puttaparthi, India, on an annual basis.
